Jet Boat Training

Boat training is a key part of our fishing guide school program. In addition to drift boat skills, a day of jet boat training is offered to interested students. This training will introduce you to jet boat operation, an essential skill for guiding the Pacific North West, Alaska, and the Striped Bass flats of the North East.

The lesson begins on stillwater where you will learn the fundamentals of motor operation and safety, then progresses to a moving section of the river where the challenges of reading "lines and currents" takes place. This training, as with all of our training, is conducted under the watchful eye of a skilled guide with an extensive background in “river running” and hydraulics. Our instructors are specialists when it comes to operating Jet Boats on rivers. With their expertise in boat handling and instruction, they will guide you through this session with our "hands-on" training approach.

Also included in these sessions will be transporting trailers with boats, backing down boat ramps and loading and unloading boats.
